SAP License Management and system measurement

Saving resources and avoiding excessive licensing costs

In order to use SAP systems to map business processes, a number of licenses are required for which a charge is made, usually in accordance with the SAP Price and Conditions List (PKL). There are licenses for named users (basic functions for authorized persons) and engines (additional functions or SAP products).

Due to the composition of system and SAP product landscapes, it can be very challenging for a company to optimally build up its own license portfolio, to track of licenses and, above all, to avoid over- and under-coverage of licenses. This can lead to considerable cost risks during the annual SAP audit.

By surveying your SAP system landscape, we give you the opportunity to avoid risks and help determine the actual scope of licenses required.

Our international team of experienced and certified SAP consultants supports you in all steps of the surveying process and is available to answer any questions you may have. In this way, we help you to optimally build up your budget planning for SAP licenses.

This is what we offer you

Using the SAP standard applications USMM and LAW, we analyze your SAP systems company-wide, based on the results of our consulting sessions and a joint workshop. Our team creates comprehensive overviews from which you can see your number of SAP users, their license classes, and the use of products (engines). Depending on the contract with SAP, different engines may also be subject to a fee.
We present our results to you in a concluding workshop and will be happy to advise you on optimization potential in license management as well as suitable measures.

The consolidated insights gained provide you with gaps between agreed and actually required license scope. This enables you to avoid over- or under-coverage of your SAP licenses. Too many or too complex license scopes cause unnecessary costs, too few licenses, on the other hand, can lead to problems with regard to SAP compliance requirements. Through system measurement, we thus create a comprehensive basis in the decision-making process for your SAP license portfolio.

System measurement also offers an important starting point for optimizing your existing SAP contract. Here, too, we can support you in maintaining or further developing a sustainable and cost-optimized contract.
